The HillbillyJedi invades Brazil!

I know it's a crazy title, please let me explain! My friend Britton Shaw (aka. hillbillyjedi) is an avid paraglider and general aviation enthusiaist. Britton also happens to be in the Guard with me and has asked me on several occasions if I wanted to do a tandem flight. I have always declined but I think I'll take him up on it when I get home. Britton has done some amazing things in aviation such as building his own airplane and then competing in an air race with it. He took me for a ride in his airplane before he sold it and I had a blast.

Brittons company recently sent him to Brazil (tough work assignment) and of course he took his paragliding stuff along. You can check out his brazil trip by clicking on this link. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_CIw0Lb9_SE

If you search for hillbillyjedi on youtube, you will find a lot of his videos, some of local flying, and some of far away places that he travels to, all specifically for the purpose of paragliding.

Well, this weekend was a good one despite the rain! Me, Janet, Allyson, and Lori went to Seville on Saturday. It poured down rain on us all day. We bought a couple of cheap umbrellas and Janet had her rainjacket but it didn't really do much good, we all ended up getting pretty wet. Lori finally gave up and just quit trying to stay under the umbrella. Needless to say, we were ready to come back to the base after a few hours of being soaked. I did find the one shop I was looking for to buy a few souveniers. Sunday we made a trip to Rota, in the rain of course, we made quick work of the Navy exchange and grabbed some Subway before making our getaway back to the base. It's fun to travel but I always breath a sigh of relief when we pull back on base. I don't know why because I've never felt uncomfortable outside the confines of the base, I guess it's just because I get back to familiar surroundings. I guess we're all creatures of habit.

So, these last three Life Signs will finish up the book, hopefully if you followed along, you got something out of it. If anyone wants to borrow the book, you are more than welcome to it. I guess I will try to find another kind of Bible verse or positive thought to finish my blog each day. Maybe I'll come up with a saying like Philip did and host a poll to see which one wins, or maybe I'll just adopt the jerry Springer "Until next time, take care of yourself, and each other" Or there is always the classic Bob Barker "Have your pet spayed or nuetered"

Life Sign, Day 38: Others will know I am a Christian by my love.

Life Sign, Day 39: My love for others is not conditional on their meeting my standards.

Life Sign, Day 40: I am a channel of God's grace to others.

The Bob Barker one makes sense to me.
