Well, it has been another fast paced weekend here in Spain. the new persco team arrived on Wednesday. I call them the A Team, remeber that show? "I pity the fool that don't remember Mr. T in the A Team!" Laurie and Allison are the new team, they are replacing Ron and Tenique. They trained and took over their work center which is right across the hall from my office during the latter part of the week. I spent the weekend showing them the basics of how to catch the bus to Seville and how to get to Rota. We rented a car and drove to Seville on Saturday for a quick tour and a little shopping but by early afternoon they were tired and ready to go back to the base. It takes an average of 5 days for your body to get adjusted to the difference in time, not to mention that Allison is apparently very allergic to something here and has had allergy trouble since the second she stepped off the plane. The flight doc that was here when I first got here said that a lot of people are allergic to olive trees so it's possible that could be the culprit. I told her she needs to go to the medical station first thing on Monday.
Sunday, we all went to Chapel and then drove to Rota so they would know where to go. Again by early evening they were exhausted, so we picked up the things that they needed to get and quickly headed back to Moron.
The folks from the Malaga Media Center came back to Chapel again. They shared a little more about what they do there, what an amazing ministry. Malaga is on the coast just across the Striat of Gibraltar from North Africa. The Malaga Media center broadcast messages about the Christian faith in Arabic, Spanish, and English. They have radio and television broadcasts from their own studio. They also have a website
http://www.malagamediacenter.org/Check it out, it will give you a better idea of what they do there.
Well, I am falling behind in Signs of Life so I suppose I will post several days so we can get caught up again.
Life Sign, Day 24: My behavior reflects the teachings of Jesus.
Life in Action, Day 24: In what specific ways can I more fully experience the fruit of the Spirit in my life?
Life Sign, Day 25: Those who come in contact with me leave encouraged.
Life in Action, Day 25: This week I will encourage 5 people, make a list.
Life Sign, Day 26: I courageously walk through open doors God puts before me.
Life in Action, Day 26: What opportunity-set before me right now-do I need to seize?
I apologize for having to post so many days at one time. I'm pretty good about blogging during the week, but sometimes the weekends get away from me. I only have a month left here, it will be good to get home. Most of the people I started out with here are leaving or have already left which in a way is cool because it gives me an opportunity to meet more new faces. Well, I hope everyone had a great weekend!
