Freedom Walk

Tomorrow is the anniversary of the Sept, 11th attacks on our great Nation. To remember and honor those who lost their lives that day and to support our troops, Moron, AB has organized a Freedom Walk at 0830. This is a walk that was started by Pentagon employees as a way to honor those who lost their lives on Sept. 11th. I looked to see if there was a local Freedom walk that anyone in Greenwood/Fort Smith area could participate in but there isn't one. I think it might be time that Fort Smith has one next year. I have requested information and I am going to see what it would take to put on a Freedom Walk in Fort Smith. The walk only lasts an hour and can be a time of reflection on the events that changed everyone's life.
Today in Signs of Life, we started the section on "Rolled Up Sleeves" I have a feeling that this is going to be about our works that we do. If you think back we have talked about the having dusty shoes from spreading the Gospel. We then talked about Worn-Out Knees and our prayer life. Now we are going to talk about getting to work.
Dr. Jeremiah talks about Christians always being world changers! He presented an interesting story that I thought you all might enjoy since school just recently started again.
Friedrich Froebel was the son of a Luthern pastor who often helped his father in the family garden. As a young man, Friedrich 's Christian beliefs convinced him that children needed to learn about God and His ways at an early age. One day as he was hiking in the mountains, Friedrich imagined a school for young children that would allow their minds to be cultivated much like working in a garden. He called his idea a child's garden. Because of Friedrich Froebel's idea, children have been going to Kindergarten for the last 150 years.
Dr. Jeremiah challenges us to find a need and fill it. How you ask? Ask God to show you a specific need and then empower you in meeting that need.
Life Sign, Day 22: The world sees the heart of God through the work of my hands.
Life in Action, Day 22: Who around me needs a special touch of Jesus' love to come through my helping hands?

I think the Freedom Walk is a great idea. It sounds like you are on the right track to having this initiated. Remember those today that lost their live in the terror attacks on September 11,2001. Say a prayer for the families of these victims. God Bless America!
