It's a small world!

I think I have titled one of my very early posts with the same title but today I discovered just how small the world really is. I decided to go on the airfield inspection this morning because I had heard that we had a whole bunch of airplanes land here last night. As we drove past several rows of aircraft, I couldn't believe it. The Tulsa ANG was here! What's even better is that there is a least one guy here that I know, he used to be in the Arkansas ANG several years ago. It sure is a strange feeling when you run into someone you know 3000+ miles away from home. Pray for the Tulsa guys, I think I have told you all before that the reason this base is here is to support aircraft going to and from Iraq and Afghanistan, so as you might imagine, they are not going to lay on the beach and have a vacation...although they are going somewhere with a lot of sand.

Yesterday we finished up the section of Signs of Life dealing with "Rolled Up Sleeves" Now we are moving on to "An Open Hand" Now I'm not talking about poker hands or slight of hand magic tricks, I'm talking about giving and recieving! Usually when a pastor says anything about an open hand people immediately think of Tithing and giving money but Dr Jeremiah put some interesting thoughts into what it means to have "Open Hands" Having Open Hands means that you are able to give and recieve. Without an open hand, God can't give you any gifts and likewise, you can't give any gifts to God or anyone else for that matter, if your hands are closed. I never really thought of it like that before.

Life Sign, Day 29: I look for ways to generously give to others.

Life in Action, Day 29: What resources do I have that I can give to help others?
