Isn't there an old saying, "The rain in Spain falls gently on the plain?" Well, regardless, it's true! It finally rained here yesterday. Well, it was more like a light drizzle but if you stood outside in it for a while, you would be wet. It smelled good outside, like it does back in Arkansas just before an August afternoon thundershower. Most of all, it was a nice change from the constant sun and heat. The rain also brought some chilly temps with it. I bought a jacket with me, and I actually got it out yesterday. The cooler temps are really a welcome break, it's good football weather. Unfortunately, I guess the Bulldogs didn't do to well on Friday? I looked at the schedule and I will get to go to one home game, hopefully this is just a rough start to another great season.
Saturday I hitched a ride with a couple of the services folks and went back to La Rambla to shop for some pottery for my lovely wife. When I got back to the base, I took advantage of the dreary day and crawled into bed for an afternoon nap, which turned into an early evening nap, which nearly cost me being able to get something to eat! I was pretty much a lazy bum the rest of the day. Pottery shopping will wear a guy out!
Today I slept in, went to Chapel, did laundry, made a DVD using a bunch of my pictures from Spain, went to the gym, went to eat, and am now anxiously awaiting my kiddos to get up from a nap so we can visit! The time is really going pretty fast. I have just a little 0ver a month to go and I'll be back in Greenwood, boy, am I ready!
Well, since I didn't post yesterday, I'll give you two days of Signs of Life so we can stay on track. I figure that we should be finishing this up about the time I get ready to leave here.
Day 18 was all about loving God more than any physical possesion we may have!
Life Sign, Day 18: My love for God is greater than my affection for anything in this desireable but deadly world.
Life in Action, Day 18: Why is it important for us to have boundaries on all my affections except for my affection for God?
Day 19 was dealing with God holding us close. When we draw near to God, we need not worry because he is holding us in his hands.
Life Sign, Day 19: My life is not plagued by worry because I am held tightly in God's hands.
Life in Action, Day 19: What promises from Gods Word can I claim in order to hold together the fraying fabric of my everyday life?
Sorry for the two days in one posting. It's really better if i can just do one, because it gives me time to think about it as well but in order to stay on track, I thought it best to go ahead and post two days. Hope everyone had a great weekend!
