Babysitting

Tonight was a pretty cool night. The Chapel is hosting Dave Ramsey's Financial Peace University and they provide babysitters, however, tonight their was a disconnect and the babysitter didn't show up. "Never Fear!" I am a trained professional at this kid stuff, "Piece O' Cake!" Luckily, I had help from the Chaplin after he got the video started. I also had help from Isaiah, a 4th grade boy. It was really fun to play with the kids. I had a three year old, two, 1 year olds and a 6 month old little boy. The mom of the 6 month old helped out when he was starting to get cranky. So, technically, I wasn't alone...I know my wife is laughing hysterically right about now. Just the thought of me babysitting was probably enough to make her laugh.

I quickly discovered that I could keep the two 1 year olds happy with goldfish and apple juice while the chaplin kept the 3 year old busy playing "Bominoes" Which is a three year olds version of Dominoes, not to worry, I didn't see any money changing hands or betting going on at the Bominoes table! The baby was great in the bounce around and all was well. The parents got to watch Dave; and Chaps and I got to watch their kiddos. The only bad thing was that it made me miss my own kids but at the same time, it was so fun to play with the kids.

Other than that, there was no other excitement today.
Please pray for a situation at my work back home. It appears that my boss is going to hire another full time employee in my office. I don't think that there is enough work for another person and personally feel like it is a waste of your tax dollars at work. I have expressed my opinion to my boss that this is not a good decision but he refuses to listen. The reason this is not a good decision is that in the process of hiring someone, we will possibly have to let one of our good guardsmen go back to his old job. Hopefully not! This is really stressing me out. My boss is eligible to retire at any time but he continues to stick around and make some crazy decisions as well as drive us all nuts with extra projects that detract from our work. This is one of those times when I wish my boss knew how to read my blog, except for the fact that he would somehow mysteriously skip over this part!

Today is Day 27 in Signs of Life, can you believe it has already been 27 days since we started this? It is going by quickly!

Today the topic was "The Ripple Effect" Which I thought was fitting since the ripples from my bosses decision will affect me for many years to come. That; however, is not what Dr Jeremiah was talking about. Think of when you throw a rock in a pond and the waves begin to ripple out and touch all kinds of things...leaves, tree branches, rocks, etc. This is how our Christian life should be. It should start with us as the stone being thrown in the water and our Christian way of life should ripple out to our families, our co-workers, neighbors, and even strangers.

Life Sign, Day 27: My life makes waves in the hearts of those around me.

Life in Action, Day 27: What ripples and waves am I setting in motion with my words and my works for Christ?

I wish I was there to help you babysit...ha ha! Hey, I like the new look. Looks like you are trying to go to syndication.
