Those of you who know me, also know that I don't talk politics too much. I do keep up with politics but I have found over the years that it just leads to arguments when you mix politics with small talk. Well, today I was shocked when McCain announced his VP nomination of Sarah Palin. I don't know much about her but she seems like a good choice at first glance. I'm sure that the Democrats were equally in shock and are now probably trying to figure out their next move. Obviously, I tend to vote Republican, but what's interesting to me about this race is that whichever candidate wins, history will be made. We will either see the first black president or the first female vice-president. Let's hope for the latter of the two choices :) It's pretty cool to think that one of these days we will have a piece of history to share with our grandkids and you can tell them that you remember when...
Tonight I am going out to eat with a group of people from the building where I work. We are going to MSgt Whitfords house and going as a group from there. We are going to a "Spanish BBQ" place. This should be interesting. I bet they don't cook up ribs like my father in law makes! I've seen a few smokers out around different towns. As a matter of fact, I even saw a kid carrying one on the back of a scooter while his buddy was driving down the street, now that was pretty comical, but my guess is that some good old Arkansas BBQ would put em to shame here!

I was shocked by McCain's VP choice as well. The more I look at it...I like it! I think this will only add more voters.
