Christmas review...

Our Christmas holiday started out on Christmas eve at Cleave and Libby's house. I tried to get some good photos of everyone but the kids were pretty wiggly and wouldn't hold still for long. We opened gifts and had a great meal. All the kids recieved Nintendo game systems and they could barely be pryed away from them long enough to eat. Those present at Papa Cleave's house were: Papa Cleave, Granny, Daniel, Kerri, Hadley, Cole, Rece, Blaze, Me, Andria, Connor, and Lily.

Thursday morning we woke up to gifts left by Santa and then we headed to Papa Johns house to have Christmas there. This was Brooks and Melissa's first Christmas together as husband and wife. It seems like it wasn't all that long ago that we were getting our first glimpse of the engagement ring. I can't believe how quickly time flies. Those present at Papa Johns house were Papa, Nanny, Brooks, Melissa, Me, Andria, Connor, and Lil.

Friday we headed to Oklahoma City to visit Grandma and also to see the newest addition to the family, Jesse Aaron. We also got to visit with Uncle Tim and Aunt April, Uncle Cliff, and Aunt Sherri, Matt and Nicci, and of course, Grandma! We also saw all of thier children and our kids had a really good time playing together.

Overall, we had a great Christmas despite the rushed feeling that seemed to come with the holidays this year. I had more than one person tell me that their holidays just seemed strange this year but no one could really put their finger on the reason why. Despite the doom and gloom of the economy and unemployment on the rise, I have to say that I really felt like me and my family were blessed this year. We had a warm bed to sleep in, a roof over our head, and friends and family that support us through good times and bad. What else could a guy ask for? I am really looking forward to 2009, I think it will be a great year.
