For the last few weeks, Lily has asked me to tell her a bedtime story every evening. The first night I made one up and now she won't settle for me reading to her, it has to be a story that I make up. After a long day, sometimes I have to take old stories and modify them, for instance, the other night I told the story of Henry the snowman, a close relative to Frosty, with similar circumstances and pretty much the same story...You get the idea, change the names, throw in a few extras and viola you have a totally different story!
Tonight I started to tell a story and I was failing miserably, Lily had a dozen questions, so I finally told her to tell me a bedtime story. The following is the story as best I can remember...Philip you will get a kick out of this!
A bedtime story as told by Lillers:
Once upon a time Mr. Philip wanted a pet so he saved his money and then went to the pet store and he bought a pet rabbit with long ears and he took it home and guess what daddy? He decided he needed another rabbit so he went back and bought another pet rabbit with long pointy ears. Mr. Philip took his rabbits home an put them in a cage. Then Mr Philip saved up his money again and he went to the pet store and bought a pet monkey named George and Mr Philip an George played together and looked at the pet rabbits. Guess what Daddy? There was also a boy named Connor, but not our Connor, and a boy named Ivan, and a girl named Ciecla and they all bought pet rabbits too. Guess what Daddy? I was good at school today, and guess what else? I'm wearing my monkey jammies to bed tonight. No Daddy! I don't need covers!!!....
I think that's pretty much where the story ended and the Q & A session began. Needless to say Lily Pill didn't go to sleep until 9:15, I think I'll follow in her footsteps and hit the sack myself! Who knew story time could be so exhausting!

I do appreciate that story. She may be the next female version of Dickens.
