"Think and Make It Happen...

Well, here is my first book that I get to review. It kinda looks like one of those "Self Help" books. I guess I'll give it a chance and see what it's all about. I didn't have a lot of choices and it was between this and a childrens book. I'm probably more qualified to review a childrens book, just ask Andria, sometimes she says she has 3 kids!
Today I set a personal record. As some of you know, I started running when I was in Spain and I have tried to keep that up since I have been home. While in Spain I got to the point that I could run 3 miles without stopping but since I have returned, I had hit a stumbling block in my training and for some reason at the 2.25 mile point, I would just stop. So last Thursday, right on cue at the 2.25 point, I hit the stop button and my boss was on the treadmill next to me. He said "I thought you were going to go 3.0 miles today" Well, for some reason, that spurred me on, so I reluctantly climbed back on and finished my 3 miles. My boss swears that he wasn't calling me a "Nancy" which is what the guys call each other at work when someone is whining or complaining. Occasionally someone will say "Go put on your skirt, Nancy" when someone is really complaining!
Anyway, today I ran 3.3 miles without stopping! Wahoo! I would like to run in a 5k (3 Miles) race next summer, maybe the Greenwood 4th of July fun run? Who knows?
Let's see, what else has been going on lately? Hmm...Well, I got new glasses and contacts last Friday! I know, I know, exciting stuff right? I'm thinking that I may have to recommend my eye doctor to my friend Philp so he will be able to tell which car is his in the parking lot at work. I won't spoil his story, just go to his blog http://upwardpoint.blogspot.com/ to get the whole scoop.
Well, I guess I should get packing, I have yet another trip to go on. I like travelling most of the time, but this trip, I am going to watch an inspection...BORING! I used to really care about how my unit did in inspections but in the last several years, I just decided that in the grand scheme of things, inspection scores don't matter that much. I don't believe that when I get to heaven God is going to say "Well done my faithful servant, especially back in 2009 when the 188th went through that inspection, that was some of your finest work!"
I guess in some respects inspection scores could matter when they start talking about closing bases and such. I suppose if a unit did really terrible on an inspection, that is just more ammunition to close a base, I don't know?
I did some research today and the town where I am going has a semi professional hockey team so I think I will most likely go to a game on Friday night. Semi pro hockey is usually cheap entertainment and usually you get to see a hockey game and a boxing match all in one night. If you've never been, I highly recommend it. One of these days, I want to see a NHL game.
Well, I have rambled enough for today.
Proverbs 21:23 He who guards his mouth and tongue, guards his soul from troubles.

I do need to schedule that eye appointment. I recommend the hockey game to anyone...it really is better to be at the game. You do occasionally get to see a good fight. Great entertainment!
