Computers can be dangerous...

Well, this weekend we decided to consolidate our 2 mini storages into one. What we really did was create a bigger mess than what we started with. We found a box with one of our old computers in it and decided that before we disposed of it, we should plug it in and make sure we had all our information off of the hard drive, good thing we did because I quickly discovered that all our financial stuff was still on there.

So, as I am unpacking the computer, I pull the monitor out of the box and promptly droped it on my toe. OUCH! Luckily, the monitor didn't break, but I'm not so sure about my toe..."Computers can be dangerous."

Anyway, as I was saying, we decided to consolidate our mini storages, what a nightmare! We were in such a rush to move out of our old house that we stored just about everything under the sun. We still don't have everything into one storage unit yet, but hopefully over the next few days we can go through everything and haul a bunch of stuff to the landfill.

This whole ordeal got me to thinking, "Why are we so obsessed with having stuff"? It seems like we accumulate a lot of useless stuff. How many times have you caught yourself saying "I have to have that!" only to find the item stuffed in a box or packed away in the attic several years later. Here's a perfect example, I found a box of life jackets that I had stored, I haven't owned a boat in at least 7 years! Why I didn't sell them with the boat is beyond me! One thing I decided when I was in Spain is that I can survive with a lot less, I have already bagged up several bags of clothes and taken them to Goodwill, hopefully someone that really needs them can put them to use. As for the rest of it, I'm going to try and sell some of it, and the rest of it will find it's final resting place at the Fort Smith landfill.

I know what you mean...everyone has to have something only to use it a few times and then it is yesterday's news. Sounds like your computer crashed...ha ha!
