Happy Thanksgiving!

Just wanted to put out a quick blog to tell everyone Happy Thanksgiving! If you are unsure of what you might be thankful for this year, just look around. There are tons of things to be thankful for. I'm thankful for all my family and friends and I am thankful that there is a roof over my head and food on my table. There are so many things to be thankful for that I couldn't begin to list them all.

Today is also a time to remember those less fortunate. Resolve yourself to do something for someone today! Maybe you won't actually do today, whatever it is that you decide to do, but make an effort to do something good for someone less fortunate. Take some old clothes to the Salvation Army, maybe that old coat in the closet will keep someone warm this winter, or drop off some food to a food bank so that someone that can't afford groceries can have a meal. Donate an hour of your time to serve a holiday meal at one of the homeless shelters. I believe that all too often we get wrapped up in our own little worlds and forget that outside the 4 walls of our comfortable homes there are people who need help and compassion. Jesus didn't go out looking for rich people to help, nor did he go hang out with the elite. Jesus went looking for those in need of His help and I believe if you are a Christian, you should be looking for the same opportunities.

Today is also a day to remember those that are fighting for our Country or are in harms way. Soldiers, Sailors, Marines, and Airman and also lets not forget foreign missionaries who may be far from home, all should be remembered during this holiday season. Somewhere in Iraq, Afghanistan, Africa, or any other numerous countries around the World, someone is longing to be at home in the United States with family, eating turkey and watching football, but instead, they are protecting our freedoms or possibly sharing Christianity with a group of people. The point is, they are far from home and we should all be thankful that there are men and women who know that the job they are doing is more important than celebrating a traditional Thanksgiving.

I say we all have something to be thankful for....Now, LET'S EAT!

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!
