Good evening hockey fans...

Welcome to War Memorial Collesium! Tonight we bring you the epic hockey matchup of the week here in Fort Wayne between the Fort Wayne Komets and the Port Huron Icehawks.

Well, sorry, that's about as good as it gets for me announcing any sporting event. I did go to the hockey game tonight and will most likely go again tomorrow night. The game was pretty good although, the Komets did lose 1-0.

There were several good fights and numerous penalties but in the end the Komets just couldn't get it together and get the puck to the net. Goalies for both teams made some great saves and even though the Komets lost, they did play really good defense during powerplays for the Icehawks.

It's more expensive to attend games here than in Tulsa or OKC. It was $8.00 for parking and $20.00 per ticket. I did ask about military discounts and they do give them but basically it's buy one get one free and since I went alone, this did me absolutely no good. Oh well! I did get a great seat at center ice, just above the glass. In my opinion this is the best place to sit because you can still hear the players talking smack to each other and see the blood and spit and occasionally teeth fly but you aren't so close to the action that when someone gets checked that it rattles your eardrums. Don't get me wrong, it's still loud, just not quite so "In your face".

Maybe we can do a guys night out and go to Tulsa some Friday night and watch a game? Just something to think about?
