A whole lot a nothin'

Well, I have been remiss in my posting lately, I'll try to do better. There's not much news to tell really, so I'll give you a whole lot of useless information in this post. I'm pretty much back to a normal schedule, although, work is kicking my tail this week. It seems that in my absence, every section on base just decided not to do anything with their safety program. So, since Monday, I have been bombarded with questions and meetings. OK, enough about work, I don't want to put any of you to sleep with details about my job; actually, just thinking about it makes me want to go to sleep too!

I saw my friends Jackie and Jeb at church tonight and I was able to give them the knives I bought for them in Seville. I really appreciate them checking on Andria and the kids while I was gone and also for keeping my yard mowed. Thanks Guys!
Jackie, Jesse, Connor and Myself are going to hit the woods this weekend in search of Bambi. It is bow season in Arkansas and it's also one of my favorite times to hunt. The weather is cool but not so cold that it is unbearable and you can get in your stand without having to wear a ton of warm clothes which is always a hinderance to me. During gun season it's not as bad, but trying to draw your bow with a bulky coat is really a pain. This will be Connor's first time out with me during bow season. I think I have said before that he got the "Gift of gab" from his mama so I hope he will be quiet and still while we are in the woods.

I did some gun trading prior to leaving for Spain and ended up with a brand new Remington 700 30-06 deer rifle. It is definately the nicest gun I have ever owned. It has a black synthetic stock and a black matte finish. Thanks to my little trip to Spain, I was able to afford to put a nice Nikon scope on it this week. I'm looking forward to sighting it in and hopefully harvesting a nice deer with it this year.

HEY! WAKE UP! No sleeping while reading my blog of insignificant ramblings! ha ha

Apparently I missed some more Greenwood small town drama while I was gone. I noticed that my friend Jackie wrote about the idiot we have for a mayor. in one of his recent posts. So, I asked Andria and she told me the story of our not so great leader stealing political signs at 2 A.M
in a friends car. I have to agree with Jackie, we the people need to take a stand and do something to get this guy out of office, he doesn't deserve to be mayor of Greenwood. I'm really surprised that he was elected but I guess when both choices are bad you try to do your best and pick the lesser of two evils. Greenwood is a nice town, with good schools and friendly people but even before I left for Spain it seems we were getting a lot of bad press. Now, I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed, but it seems to me that all the negative press seems to be coming from the mayors office or the city council. Hmm...Maybe we should can the whole bunch of em, and start over?
Since I'm on the rampage about Greenwood politics, I gotta ask, what is the holdup on getting some parks and a swimming pool in this town. Greenwood is the ONLY town I have ever lived in that doesn't have a public swimming pool and a few nice parks for people to enjoy. Heck, there were towns in Spain much smaller than Greenwood and they had parks and a pool. It's pretty sad when you have to drive to Fort Smith to enjoy a nice park such as Creekmore Park or even Ben Geren Park for that matter! In the defense of the city, I do have to say that the improvements at Bell Park are outstanding, however, Bell Park isn't exactly accessable to most people in town. What Greenwood needs is a centrally located park that also includes a public swimming pool.
OK, I'll get off my soapbox for tonight! I've given everyone's brain plenty of useless rambling to last for a while. I promise I will have something of value to write about in my next post...hopefully it will be a picture of me with a nice 12 point buck!
In closing, I would like to quote the great Bob Barker "Don't forget to have your pet spayed or nuetered" I know, I really have to get a good closing line, the Bob Barker quote just really doesn't convey the right message does it?
How about Jerry Springer? "Until next time, take care of yourself...and each other!" I'll keep searching for the right closing line......See ya later!
