OK, since I got home on Tuesday, I feel like I have been run over several times by a Mack truck. I'll give you a quick rundown of the days leading up to today so you can get an idea of how crazy it's been. On a good note, I am finally back on Arkansas time and now I'm ready to go deer hunting.
Of course Tuesday was a super long day of traveling. It took 4 airplane rides and a little over 25 hours of continuous travel to get me from Spain to Arkansas. Technically, I gained 7 hours coming back but it sure didn't feel like it.
Wednesday, I woke up promptly at 5:00 A.M. I don't mean I just woke up gradually, I was laying in bed and I was just staring at the ceiling. My body wanted to sleep but my brain wasn't having any of that. It was 12:00 noon in Spain and my brain was ready to eat lunch! I let the kids sleep in a little and took them to school a little late. Andria took off all day and she and I spent the rest of the day running errands. I got to experience the new Target store, it's pretty nice. We didn't have time, but I was going to buy Philip two bags of Gardettos and take to his work to surprise him. We dawdled around in Target so long that we had to rush back to pick the kids up from school, (Sorry Philip!) and then hurry to get around so that Connor and I could get haircuts before all the wedding madness started. Andria took Connor to church but my body was way out of whack with sleeping so I stayed home and pretty much crashed by about 7:00 that evening.
Thursday I took the kids to school and then headed to Fort Smith to retrieve my lost luggage. Apparently, this is becoming a trend with the airlines. Funny story, my bag arrived from Portugal and as I was claiming it at the ticket counter, about 4 people on the flight that my bag arrived on, were filling out lost luggage claims for their luggage coming from Dallas/Fort Worth. Hopefully they found their bags. After I got my bag, I went to books a million and then headed back to Greenwood to have lunch with Connor. I ran home for a few minutes after lunch and then headed back to school to pick up Con and then Lillers so we could hurry to get ready for wedding rehearsal. I ran into my friend Jackie Dolan while picking up Connor. He had killed a nice 8 point buck that morning! To see a photo check out his new blog http://outdoorsandme.blogspot.com/ I've added a link on the side of the page so you can keep up with all the deer and Turkey that Jackie kills. I'm hoping that I'll shoot a deer worthy of posting on his blog (ha ha)
The kids did pretty good during rehearsal but I think we all had our doubts about how Lillers would do during the actual wedding.
Friday was a trip to the chiropractor, also know as the torture chamber, and then back to the house to take on my project for the day. I have hundreds of CD's and they have been stored in large rubbermaid tubs. Someone gave me the idea to take the liner out of the front and put the liner and the CD in binder. I spent a good part of the day working on that and then picked the kids up. Andria and I went to Talianos for the wedding rehearsal dinner and then headed home.
Saturday was wedding day! We spent a good part of the day getting pictures made and making sure that the wedding went off without a hitch. Brooks and Mel had a really nice ceremony and as I write this, they are sailing the high seas in search of the Turks and Caicos Islands. "Congratulations Melissa and Brooks!"
Sunday I had just enough of this running around business, so I "Stayed home with the devil", as my sister in law says. I did get to see my buddy Philip last night. If you read his blog, http://upwardpoint.blogspot.com/ you can get the full story. We went to my parents house around 11:30 to visit with family that had come in for the wedding and we ended up staying almost all day, at least until 4:30ish when we went driving around. We were actually casing the Darr house in an attempt to dognap Zack but Philip busted us and he chased us out of the neighborhood. (Not really, but it makes for a good story)
I tell you, I have written about time before and how it seems like everyone is so busy nowadays. I noticed that Jackie wrote about it as well. I guess I'm not the only one that notices how quickly time flies. I'm trying to make my life less busy and just concentrating on spending more time with my wife and kids. Life shouldn't be so hectic.
Today was back to work, I gotta tell you, my heart sure wasn't in it, but I went anyway. I hit the ground running and barely had time to inhale a sandwich and chips at my desk. I hope tomorrow is a little slower pace.
I wanted to take a moment to say "Thank You" again to everyone that helped me and my family out during my absence. There aren't enough words to express how grateful we are to have such a wonderful Sunday School group ( I refuse to call it Life Group, just like my friend Jackie) Check out his blog for the whole story!
Well, I have hopefully caught everyone up on our busy last few days. I hope to get by to see everyone during this week.
Hope to see you soon!

You not buying me those Gardetto's, is probably one reason why our economy is in the tank.
