Well, there are several things to post about so once again, you get random thoughts from me today. Yesterday, I got to have lunch with Jeb and Jackie, "Thanks again for lunch Jeb!" So, I gotta tell you about these guys and their crazy workout schedule. Every morning at 2:30 am several guys meet at the gym to play a few games of basketball! Ok, it's really more like 5:00 am but in my book that's about the same as 2:30 am either way, it's waaaaaayyy to early for a "Nancy" like me to get out of bed, put on my skirt, and go play basketball. Don't get me wrong, I like basketball, just prefer to play a little later in the day...like after the sun comes up. Anyway, I appreciate the invites to join in on the fun, and I admire John, Jeb, Jackie and Scott for going every morning but I just can't do it. Sorry guys, I'm a wimp, a wimp who really likes my sleep!
I want to remind everyone about the Outdoor Sportsmans Banquet being held in Greenwood on Jan 31st. This is a great time and there will be lots of prizes and auction items to be given away. We have currently sold approximately 800 tickets which was our max capacity last year. This year we are setting up a booth at the Fort Smith Boat Show this weekend in an effort to sell more tickets. I always enjoy going to the boat show anyway, so this gives me a good excuse. Jackie and I are going to work the booth tomorrow and I expect we will have a good time.
So, back to the OSB...Paige Patterson is our key speaker this year, he has hunted just about every species of wild game alive. Mr. Patterson has been on many African safaris and will captivate you with his stories of adventure. Our MC for the event is Steve "Wildman" Wilson, the state public affairs coordinator for the Arkansas Fish and Game Commission. Steve is also a very entertaining and dynamic speaker.
Tickets are only $5.00 and I promise you won't be dissapointed!
For more info or to purchase a ticket, you can call First Baptist Church at 479-996-2166.
If you look at my title, you will also see that I have a miracle to tell you about....OK, it's not a "Real" miracle but it was a shock to everyone. This week, Kelley "I'll never get on facebook" Darr got her very own facebook account. I was very happy to see that my good buddy Philip also got on facebook but was speechless, when "Naysayer" Kelley asked to be my friend. She may delete me from her friend list after she reads my blog! Just kidding Kelley, glad to see you are on facebook now!
Please pray for our Country as our new President is inaugurated next week. There are some huge changes about to happen and I'm not really sure that the voting public fully realizes what President Obama means when he speaks of "Change". Already I am hearing that it will now be OK for you to be openly gay and serve in the US Military. They tried this once when President Clinton was in office and it didn't work then, which prompted the whole "Don't Ask, Don't tell" Policy. I try to be open minded, but I gotta tell you, my mind won't open quite that far! You know the old saying, "It's supposed to be Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve!"
Also another big "Change" that is coming is the Freedom of Choice Act. If you haven't signed the petition to fight this you should take a look at what it promotes. Sorry, but I gotta harp on this one again! I can't help but think that partial birth abortion is completely wrong! Once again, this is another case where my mind just won't open that far! Anyway, if you click on the banner on the right side of my blog, it will take you to a website called fightfoca.com. You can look at what FOCA promotes and decide for yourself, I think you can probably tell where I stand on the issue.
Well, I guess I will close for now, I've rambled quite enough for one evening!
Pray for our Country!

Hey Mike! It's Tara. Hope you don't mind that I stopped by and read your blog. You are a great story teller. Tell Andria "hello and long time no see" for me!
Yes, pray for our country. Pray that God would give our new President wisdom to make decisions that would help further his kingdom.
