New Year, New Challenges, New Changes!

First of all, let me say Happy New Year to everyone! I hope and pray that everyone who reads this is blessed with a great 2010. The last few months have been very busy what with the holidays and getting ready for deployment. I will be going to Afghanistan in the next few months and work has been extremely busy trying to get everyone qualified on weapons and getting the necessary training to go. I have also been busy at home spending as much time as I can with my family before I go and trying to make sure that everything is in order before leaving.

I am getting word that there is internet connection where I will be so I will try to update the blog from time to time with pictures and different happenings.

Second I have to say that the new change I am referring to in my title has nothing to do with the Presidents "Change" He can keep his change! So, have you ever wondered if there was something different that you might want to do? Perhaps a different career or maybe a different way of life? I am starting to think it might be time for a career change. I know, not the best timing as far as the economy is concerned, right? Well, I have put in for an aviation safety position with the US Forest Service and hopefully something will come from that. If it's in Gods plan for me and my family, then it will happen. If things fall into place and that happens, I will most likely try to transfer to an ASOS ANG unit. I have been working with other units that have a similar mission and I only wish I would've known about their career field a long time ago. The mission of these units is to basically call in airstrikes on targets, there is a person on the ground that talks to the pilot in the aircraft and between the two of them they put the bombs on the bad guys! I have only been working with them for a few weeks but every one of the guys I have talked with, say that it is the most rewarding job in the Air Force. Without actually doing it, I can't say, but the results of a job well done are obvious when a building full of terrorists explodes! My hat's off to the guys that make it happen both in the air and on the ground.

I have been watching FOX news this morning as I get ready for work. Seems that the Democrats are quite worried about losing the election in Massachutsetts! I hope the Republicans win so maybe we can put a stop to the Presidents crazy healthcare bill and many of the other "Programs" that he wants to force on the American people. It really makes me sick to think that if Mr Obama gets his way, my great great grandchildren will be paying for his mistakes. If I remember correctly, this whole tax thing...wasn't that part of a little thing called the American Revolution?
Well, it's "Time to make the donuts" as the old Dunkin Donuts commercial used to say, in other words, time to go to work for the day!
Have a great week!
