The last few days...

These last few days have been absolutely crazy! When I last left off with this, we were without power and were staying at my parents house. I'm happy to report that our power was back on the next day. There are still a lot of people without power in NW Arkansas, I talked to one of my friends from up that way and he and his family live out in the country and were told it could be another two weeks before they get electricity.
The Outdoor Sports Banquet was a big hit again this year. There were approx. 2000 people in attendance. There were 61 people who either made decisions to become a Christian or asked for more information. There were tons of prizes given away and silent auctioned. I bought a dutch oven and a cookbook from the Arkansas Dutch Oven Society, so guys, get ready because I may try out some of these dutch oven recipes at deer camp next year.

There was something about the OSB that bothered me. During the door prize giveaways, Steve "Wildman" Wilson asked who was in charge of getting all these prizes together and someone threw out my name. Wildman then asked for the crowd to give me a round of applause leaving everyone to believe that I single handedly collected all the prizes given away. I'm one for giving credit where credit is due and I have to say that Jackie Dolan and Henry Smith are the real reason that we had so many prizes to give away. These guys are the bomb! They have so many contacts in the outdoor industry and they are the real reason that the prize team did so well. It certainly wasn't because of anything I did. As a matter of fact, I tried to get out of being the prize leader because I have been so busy at work, but Harold wouldn't let me off the hook. In a way, I'm glad he didn't because I think I would have been dissapointed in myself for quitting. It was worth all the time on the phone and additional stress, and although I say that next time, I probably won't be involved, I'm sure when they ask, I'll gladly accept the task. It's great to see a kids face light up when he wins a prize and you couldn't wipe the smile off the guys face that won the 4 wheeler we gave away. Overall the event was awesome but I just want to say "Thanks!" again to Jackie and Henry. "You guys Rock!"

This morning we got up and went to church, but before we left, I snapped a few photos of Lillers. I'm amazed at how quickly kids change. I'm also amazed at how little I still know about my camera. Hopefully I can take a class on it soon.

Here's wishing everyone a great week!
