My buddy Jackie Dolan, future mayor of Greenwood, called me up a couple days ago to ask me if I would like to sign up with him for Drury Outdoors Dream Season. After asking a couple questions about what was involved, I said "Sure, it sounds fun!" So, next hunting season we are going to film all of our hunts, edit the video, and get three good films together to send in. If they choose our films, we get to go hunting in some pristine hunting areas and have it filmed plus I think we win some prizes or something...I don't know all the details yet. I'm looking forward to it. Since I got the new camera for Christmas I have really started to enjoy taking pictures so I'm hoping that I'll be able to get good with the video camera too. With the way my last deer season went, I'm beginning to think that looking through the camera lens may be the only way I get to see a deer, I sure didn't see any while looking through my rifle scope. ha ha Hmm...now that I think about it, Jackie may have made a bad choice for a hunting partner! In my defense, I was gone to Spain right up until season opened so, I didn't get a lot of opportunity to scout.
Lucky for me, a guy by the name of Woody showed me some tricks for Turkey hunting last time Jackie and I went to Kansas, maybe we'll get a good turkey hunt on film, although, we may have to do a little editing if we use all of Woody's turkey hunting tactics.
Well, be sure to look for Jackie and I on the Outdoor Channel in a couple years. How could they not choose us for the show, I mean just think about it...We're both incredibly handsome. We can both provide comic relief for the show. Jackie does all his own stunts such as diving in ditches and hanging from treestands. Most people don't know it, but I'm a professional stunt driver. I have experience crashing 4 wheelers and performing my signature stunt of leaving my trailer hitch unlocked so that it pops up and smashes the tailgate of my truck. I've also been know to bring the right shells for the wrong gun or the wrong shells for the right gun...however you want to look at it.
With all that going for us, we'll surely get a call from the Outdoor Channel; they might just call to laugh at us over the phone, but at least maybe we'll get the call.
