First week home...

Well, I have been home a little over a week. It has been kind of a whirlwind of activity, the kids are wrapping up the school year and this week it seems like there is some activity everyday. I finally decided Saturday that I was going to take Connor out of school on Monday and Tuesday of this week and take him camping. Lily had a piano recital Sunday afternoon and she did awesome! I'm really proud of her, she seems to love piano, in fact, she gets irritated with me when I won't help her right away with her theory. She is, however, a typical "piano student" she gets mad at me when I make her practice. I'll try to post some pictures of her recital in my next blog. So, after the recital, Connor and I came home and changed clothes and headed to Devils Den State park. We camped out for two nights and had the park almost all to ourselves with the exception of the wildlife and the little furry bandit that kept getting in our ice chest and dry box to steal our food.

Chef Connor cooking our gourmet meal of hot dogs.

Connor playing with the fire (anyone seeing a pattern here?) I think the boy is a pyromaniac

Connor and I at the entrance to one of the caves. Unfortunately all the caves are closed because of White Nose syndrome that is killing bats in several States. The park interpreter told us that it hasn't infected the bats in Arkansas but that had been confirmed in surrounding states.

Taking a break for a photo op!

Connor below Twin Falls...he tried to get me to set the timer on the camera and get up there with him for a picture, so I did, which resulted in a picture of me almost falling off the log...Sorry, that one didn't make the blog :)

I called work today, because I wasn't really sure when I was supposed to go back, I figured they would call me if I was supposed to be there! I was told that I didn't have to be back until June 14th so I think another camping trip may be in the near future, this time Lillers will get to go along since school will be out and we will be done with all these "End of School" activities.

Also, today the last two of our deployed pilots returned and now we have all of our people home from Afghanistan, it's good to have everyone home and it's great to be home!
